The OGF
Dallas Gaiter is a 2025 graduate of Buchtel CLC, heading to The Ohio State University in the fall, where he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering. Gaiter participated in bowling, football, and track while maintaining his honor roll status and completing 140 hours of community service.
What is Legacy to Dallas: "An authentic legacy is created through our actions, words, and the feelings we evoke in others. It pertains to positively influencing those around us, inspiring transformation, and leaving something of significance. A legacy is not merely established at the close of our lives; it is cultivated daily through the way we interact with others, the kindness we extend, the knowledge we impart, and the enthusiasm we bring to our endeavors."
What kind of Legacy does Dallas want to leave: "The legacy I aspire to leave is characterized by inspiration, kindness, and positive transformation. I wish to be remembered as someone who elevated others, who motivated people to have faith in themselves, and who played a role in improving the world in any way I could.
I desire my legacy to encompass something concrete—a collection of work, knowledge, or initiatives that continue to assist and inspire others long after I
am no longer here. Whether through writing, mentoring, or community initiatives, I seek to leave behind resources and concepts that empower future generations.
Akaliya White is a 2025 graduate of Akron Early College High School, heading to Bowling Green State University in the fall, where she plans to major in forensic science. At Buchtel CLC, White participated in Basketball, Cross Country, and Track & Field. She completed many hours of community service around the city while being a part of activities such as Student Voice, Mayor Youth Leadership Council, and the 2025 Cotillion.
What is Legacy to Akaliya: "Legacy, to me, isn’t just about being remembered; it's about the impact you leave on the people around you. It’s the lessons, the inspiration, and the way you make others feel, even after you’re gone. It’s about how you influenced others, how you showed up when it mattered, and the mark you left behind, no matter how big or small."
"One of the biggest influences on my life was coach OG, he was a mentor, a father figure, and someone who genuinely cared about his athletes. I wasn’t just on his team I was a part of his coaching journey. But now, I realize that his legacy lives on in me and every other athlete he coached. That’s the kind of impact I want to have on others."
What kind of Legacy does Akaliya want to leave: "The legacy I want to leave behind is one of resilience, passion, and purpose. I want people to remember me as someone who never gave up, even when life gave me every reason to. Whether it’s in track, where I’ve fought through injuries and setbacks, or in my future career in forensic science, where I hope to bring justice to families who need answers. I want my legacy to be about fighting for something bigger than myself. My coach always believed in me, and I want to carry that belief forward not just for myself, but for anyone who looks up to me the way I looked up to him."
Savion Wright is a 2025 graduate of Buchtel High School, heading to Kent State University in the fall, where he plans to major in education. At Buchtel CLC, Wright was the 2025 Class President along with the National Honor Society. He was a peer mediator, student ambassador, while being a member of student council and other school-related extracurricular activities.
What is Legacy to Savion: "The word legacy itself means something like a gift with a lasting impact. Everyone must leave this earth one day, and everyone will be missed, but in order to leave a legacy, you must have touched many hearts and lives and helped change them for the better. Having a legacy also means that others were inspired to follow you as a leader. "
What kind of Legacy does Savion want to leave: " The legacy I would like to leave behind is one full of faith, love, leadership, and respect. The legacy of faith I would like to leave is letting others see the light that God has given me. The legacy of love I would like to leave is hoping that people do not see me as a person to look up to, but that I do everything out of my love for God. Hoping that one day it could drive others to do the same. Finally, the legacy of leadership I would like to leave one day is not for every leadership position I was in, in high school, or even when I become an Administrator. The Legacy of Leadership I would like to leave is that people see me as first being able to be led. I can not lead anyone anywhere if I can not lead myself first.
I hope they see me as someone God called to that position, instead of just the
position itself. I would like to be a principal, one day for the Akron Community. I plan on later one day creating a scholarship for other young African American students, In Akron, Ohio. I would like to create the scholarship, so Minority-Low Income students have a way to pay for college if that is their desire."
